As part of my role as the Founder and President of Bay County Disc Golf, I designed this logo for use in our community.

The gull at the bottom represents our community in Bay County. This gull is a modified version of the gull used in the Bay County logo and solidifies our local connection. It mimics water representing our beach community, and is a feature on many local courses. Most importantly, the gull appears to be hills preceding the basket. Our premier venue, The Monster at Majette, includes many baskets strategically placed around the dunes.

The background has a disc golf basket in the negative space representing the sport that brings us together. The basket, in a circle over the horizon, mimics how the baskets look at sunrise and sunset, illustrating that the community is always there for others. From sunrise to sunset and sunset to sunrise, this community built will stand to make sure we are all better.

The two stars connect us to the past of our original logo, which had two stars on the sides.

The surrounding text is optional but allows for immediate name recognition in many formats, but removed in areas where we are well-known or in graphics where the text would be too cluttered.

Started by United States Air Force and local disc golf community member Ryan Best, the annual Iron Man involves playing a 3 round charity tournament in a single day and raising money for a local veteran’s charity. The charity is the HOPE Project, which works on equine therapy for veterans who struggle with PTSD or other problems from their service.

I designed the logo to capture the meaning of the event. The anvil in the center represents the “iron” in Iron Man. Anvils are incredibly tough like our military members working through things now that they are back home. An anvil is a piece of iron that exists to mold hot metals. The 3 round tournament in the middle of the summer in Florida is very hot and molds players. So this piece of metal represents precisely how much the event will test your mettle.

The three stars at the top represent the three rounds played, noted below in the text. The date is written in the day-month format to match how our military members would write it. The three stars at the bottom represent the three layouts of Majette. Our course has three skill-level configurations, and we put every player on all three designs for our annual Iron Man.

Our non-profit community runs the annual Northwest Florida Disc Golf Championship. I did the branding and logo for this event. The brand package represents the blue and green colors, which represent the beauty of nature in the blue skies and green grass at our course. The course, a former golf course, consistently provides open scenery across the horizon.

The elevation with a basket perched on top represents the dunes on the course. Many of the signature holes have natural dunes that provide height and difficulty. The light blue lowest stripe portrays the many water hazards on the course.

The palm tree symbolizes the many palm trees across the course from its days as a golf course and because they survived Category 5 Hurricane Michael. These trees provide a unique visage for the course and define the boundaries of many greens well.

Designed for a local restoration and roofing group, R2 Realty Restoration focuses on construction projects as general contractors. The R2 nomenclature had stuck and is the center of the logo. The two’s negative space in the R solidifies that it’s core to their business and being as a company to do restoration and other projects.

Their primary activity is roofing, so a simple roof over the R2 is included. The design shows confidence and stature as a certified roofing company in Florida.

The wall shows the support they bring to companies, and the lack of a wall on the right shows they can help you when your project is unfinished. Ultimately, they bring a lot to a house that looks like their logo to get them completed.

After Hurricane Michael destroyed 1,000,000+ trees in Panama City, it became clear that a need to repopulate the area with native species of trees would be necessary. In addition, as part of our mission of growing disc golf, the need to plant trees in courses and parks in Bay County became critical. Therefore, during our rebrand, we launched the Root for Bay initiative from Bay County Disc Golf with our value of nurturing nature. With this, I designed the R logo with the roots extending and a version that spells out the entire initiative.

Our local courses have a lot of water, and people lose their discs at the bottom of the ponds. A dedicated group of club members often go diving or dragging these ponds. As part of helping those folks feel appreciated, I created the Squid Squad brand. We also designed and had jerseys made for the team.
